Elizabeth Preis
Former Global Chief Marketing Officer, Anthropologie
The CMO Who Made ‘AnthroMagic’ Happen
When Anthropologie launched its first adaptive collection last year, Global CMO Elizabeth Preis noted that the brand was being careful not to congratulate itself for the idea, which came about internally from an employee resource group dedicated to promoting accessibility and inclusivity. That authenticity is exactly why Anthropologie continues to resonate with customers — the company posted strong digital and brick-and-mortar sales in 2024. Preis dubbed her marketing approach “AnthroMagic,” for the way it ensures that customers feel a sense of joy and discovery every time they engage with Anthropologie. That includes everything from holiday pop-ups to thoughtfully collaborating with micro-influencers who have a genuine connection to the brand. Preis, who led Anthropologie’s marketing for more than five years, says technology is also key to making AnthroMagic happen: Her team leverages first-party data to craft personalized customer journeys and uses AI to elevate visual storytelling. In May 2025, Preis announced she was joining Victoria’s Secret & Co. as its new CMO.
