Meet the First Latina Editor of Parents
When Grace Bastidas was named Editor-in-Chief of Parents in 2022, she became the first woman of color to lead the media brand in its nearly 100-year history. It wasn’t the easiest time to take over the legacy media organization, as it transitioned to a digital-only model. But Bastidas was well suited for the switch as the founding editor-in-chief of Parents Latina, which recently relaunched as Familia under the Parents umbrella. She grew Parents Latina to reach a coveted audience of 3.4 million multicultural millennial moms, a track record she’s duplicating at Parents, which now brings in 23 million monthly page views and has 8.6 million social followers. When she isn’t busy building the Parents audience, Bastidas shares her professional and personal wisdom as a mom of two daughters on podcasts, television, and more. In 2024, she shared the stage at the Aspen Ideas Festival to talk about the dilemmas of modern parenting and why families need social capital.
