Cure Blindness Project’s CEO Helped Increased Fundraising 341% in Just One Year
K-T Overbey has only been CEO of Cure Blindness Project for two years — but she’s already dramatically accelerated the nonprofit’s mission. In 2024 alone, the organization raised $29 million, a 341% increase from the previous year. The influx of funding enabled Cure Blindness to double the number of sight-restoring surgeries it delivers annually to more than 155,000 and expand training programs for ophthalmologists, ophthalmic personnel, and community health workers across South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and South America. To scale the organization’s global impact, Overbey drew on her extensive experience across both the nonprofit and corporate sectors. Before joining Cure Blindness, she served as President and Executive Director of OneSight, a global vision care NGO, and held leadership roles at Procter & Gamble and Bain. Her blend of strategy and mission-driven purpose initiatives is now powering one of the most ambitious efforts in global eye care.
