Lauren Corugedo’s connection to Chef Merito runs through her veins. In addition to serving as the brand’s Head of Marketing, Corugedo is the granddaughter of its founder, Plinio Garcia. Growing up, Corugedo was surrounded by good cooking and entrepreneurial spirit. Today, she is responsible for marketing the company’s seasonings, spices, and blends to a diverse audience. Corugedo’s special sauce lies in her ability to marry tradition with innovative strategy. As its marketing lead, she has taken a vibrant, youthful approach to social media, spearheading viral videos that have grown the brand’s follower account and engagement across multiple platforms. Corugedo also helped establish the brand’s long-standing partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers — including during the baseball team’s 2024 World Series win — an initiative that led to immediate spikes in sales.
