Dropbox Isn’t Just for Storage. She’s Getting the Word Out

In 2024, Dropbox launched its most significant marketing effort in years, positioning itself as more than just a file storage service, but rather as a suite of tools for creative and collaborative work. Central to that effort is Dash, an AI-powered tool that allows users to search across audio, video, images, and text, as well as across many platforms, such as Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Figma, Canva, and Jira. What’s more, Dash can collate information from across various sources — email, meeting notes, and existing documents, for example — to create project plans, memos, or briefs. As the Chief Communications Officer at Dropbox, Asheer oversees the company’s global communications and brand marketing teams and has been crucial to the company’s efforts to publicize its new products. Under her guidance, Dropbox became the official technology partner of the McLaren Formula 1 Team, meaning Oscar Piastro and Lando Norris (No. 1 and No. 2 at May’s Miami Grand Prix) now sport the Dropbox logo.
