Social Justice Is More Than Just Work for This Communication Exec
As the EVP at Fenton Communications, an award-winning public relations and communications agency dedicated to driving social change, Daria Hall is committed to promoting equity and justice not only for her clients, as the head of the Racial Justice & DEI Group, but also within the organization itself. In 2023, she launched the DEIJ Task Force, consisting of six employee resource groups, to create safe affinity spaces for staff to convene, learn, and network. She also developed “The People & Identity Style Guide,” a publicly available resource to empower all communicators to use identity-inclusive language. She created a framework to assess content creation through a DEIJ lens and collaborated with the PR Council’s DEI team to create the “Better Together” guide to help clients and agencies build and nurture inclusive teams. Her efforts are paying off for her clients and at Fenton, where 66% of the firm’s leadership are women and 55% are people of color.
