She Broke the Longest Tech IPO Drought in 30 Years
In 2023, Fidji Simo led Instacart to its stock market debut, breaking the longest tech IPO drought in three decades. A former executive at Meta, Simo joined Instacart in 2021 and has since made outstanding progress to innovate and grow the grocery delivery platform. In 2022, Instacart launched Instacart Health, an initiative with new partnerships and products to make nutritious eating more accessible and affordable for everyone. This includes Fresh Funds, a product that enables any organization to give people funds to buy nutritious food from grocery retailers on the Instacart App. In 2023, the leading grocery technology company also announced that Electronic Benefits Transfer for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (EBT SNAP) could now be used to buy groceries online via Instacart in every state, making it the first and only online grocery marketplace to accept SNAP in all 50 states and Washington D.C.
