The Media Executive Whose Revenue Strategy Has Led to 60% Growth

Prior to stepping into her current role as Chief Revenue Officer in December 2023, Jacquelyn Cameron served as Axios’s Senior Vice President of Global Client Partnerships and Subscriptions. Under her leadership, the media company has consistently seen year-over-year growth — a major feat in an incredibly turbulent ad market. This has been done through Axios’s local news expansion strategy, which allows brands to sponsor multiple local newsletters and site verticals, and through the company’s increase in events. At the start of 2023, Axios set a goal to earn $10 million in event sponsorship revenue by the end of the year. Not only did the media company exceed its goal in Q3, but Cameron told Digiday that by the end of Q4, Axios’s annual event revenue was on track to increase by 60% year-over-year. That’s thanks in part to creative and timely partnerships, like one with Deep Blue Sports + Entertainment, which will offer a slate of tentpole events on women’s sports throughout 2024, including the Business of Women’s Sports Summit.
