She’s Leading 1% for the Planet’s Meaningful Investment in Our Global Future

Since 2015, Kate Williams has led the non-profit 1% for the Planet — a global network with thousands of businesses and environmental organizations working together to support the Earth and its inhabitants — to exponential growth and impact. Today she leads a team that has more than doubled in the past year to support and expand environmental investments. In 2023, the organization’s impact giving totaled $136,864,698, a 234% increase year-over-year, with more than 754 environmental partner organizations being screened. Williams recently oversaw the first private investments in the Planet Impact Fund at National Philanthropic Trust  and she led the 1% for the Planet Board of Directors and donors in a $350,000 fundraiser — the organization’s largest fundraising effort ever. These recent successes have inspired Williams and her team to set an ambitious goal of reaching $1 billion in certified impact giving by 2027.
