The Executive Who Blazed a Trail Into DEI for Others to Follow
When Tiffany R. Warren first decided to go into the field of DEI, she explains that the concept didn’t even exist. As an advertising executive in the 90s, there was no career framework or trajectory to follow — so she created her own path of advocating for underrepresented professionals. As the first-ever diversity executive at Sony Music Group, Warren, who also serves as the Founder and President of the nonprofit ADCOLOR, is a champion for greater diversity and inclusion in all creative industries. In 2022, under Warren’s leadership, Sony partnered with GLAAD to further their DEI efforts and double down on their commitment to inclusion. In 2023, the two organizations announced “ICONS,” an uplifting three-part episode video series that highlights LGBTQIA+ inclusion in music and amplifies LGBTQIA+ voices in the industry. In addition to a partnership with GLAAD, Sony also has partnerships with Disability:IN, Lean In, Black Music Coalition, and more, to ensure they are driving impact in diverse communities.
