This CEO Is Connecting Women Everywhere to Healthcare
When she founded Maven Clinic a decade ago, Kate Ryder knew that by improving healthcare for women and families, she and her company could help build a more equitable healthcare system for everyone. Now the world’s largest online platform for women’s and family health, Maven Clinic has connected over 15 million people to women-and family-focused medical providers, ranging from fertility specialists to sleep coaches. In the wake of the June 2022 U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v Wade, her company saw a 67% increase in inquiries from companies looking to support their employees who must travel for care (abortion-related or otherwise). Last year, Maven raised $90 million — making it the highest-valued women’s health startup at $1.3 billion — and announced a partnership to expand Amazon’s family-building support program across the world to 50 countries outside the U.S. and Canada. This partnership will give Amazon employees and their partners free access to a range of board-certified providers, from gynecologists and obstetricians to nutritionists, mental health specialists, and adoption coaches.
