The Healthcare Platform Providing Effective Eating Disorder Treatment to Those in Need

Co-Founded in 2019 by a former anorexia sufferer, Kristina Saffran (CEO) and Dr. Erin Parks  (Chief Clinical Officer), Equip offers online, evidence-based treatment that makes recovery possible for everyone affected by an eating disorder, from children and adolescents to teens and adults. According to the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, nearly 30 million Americans will struggle with an eating disorder in their lifetime, but only a small fraction get care that results in lasting recovery.  Currently, an estimated 5 million Americans will develop eating disorders each year — a number that has risen since the start of the pandemic — but only about 20% of those people receive any treatment at all (even fewer have access to evidence-based therapies). Equip is making effective treatment accessible and affordable. In 2022, the company expanded to all 50 states and is now the largest eating disorder treatment provider in the country, working with more than 15 major health insurance plans.
